State Agencies
All State of Colorado agencies are legally required, by House Bill 21-1110, to provide accessible websites. When 1 in 4 adults in the US have some type of disability, the vital importance of this law becomes clear - a government "of the people, by the people, for the people" includes all people, including those with disabilities.
From HB 21-1110: ON OR BEFORE JULY 1, 2024, EACH STATE AGENCY SHALL FULLY IMPLEMENT THE SECTIONS OF THE AGENCY'S PLAN RELATED TO ACCESSIBILITY STANDARDS FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH A DISABILITY. ANY STATE AGENCY NOT IN COMPLIANCE AFTER JULY 1, 2024, IS IN VIOLATION OF SECTION 24-34-802 AND IS SUBJECT TO THE REMEDIES FOR NONCOMPLIANCE SET FORTH IN SECTION 24-34-802.
On August 29, 2023, we visited 4,263 web pages published by the State of Colorado. We found 8,826 accessibility errors.
